Moving can be a bit of a whirlwind, so we want to make settling into your new home in Maple Ridge as easy as possible. We’re your partners in building a cleaner community, and we’re here to help you get your recycling sorted without the stress.
Getting Started with Recycling
In Maple Ridge, curbside and apartment recycling is provided at no cost to you. This service is funded by Recycle BC to make sure we keep as much as possible out of the landfill.
- Need a little extra room? If your bins are overflowing before pickup day, don’t worry! You can bring those same materials, and much more, to the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot.
- Where to find us: 10092 – 236th Street.
- When we’re open: We are here to help seven days a week.
What About Garbage and Food Scraps?
This is a common point of confusion for folks moving from other cities! In Maple Ridge, the municipality does not provide curbside pickup for garbage or “green waste” (food scraps).
To have these collected at your home, you’ll need to sign up directly with a private service provider. There are several great local companies to choose from that can get you set up with a schedule that works for you.
More Than Just Paper and Plastic
Our Depot is a bit of a “one-stop shop” for keeping our local environment healthy. We offer free drop-off for over 200 different items that shouldn’t go into the garbage.
Common items we accept include:
- Electronics & Appliances: From old cell phones to fridges.
- Household Items: Light bulbs, batteries, and textiles.
- Specialty Items: Paint motor oil, cooking oil, and scrap metal.
