Where is the Depot, and when can I visit?
We’d love to see you! You can find us at 10092 – 236th Street, just off River Road in the Albion Industrial Park.
- Monday – Saturday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (We stay open until 6:00 pm in the summer!)
- Sundays & Holidays: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Note: We are only closed on New Year’s Day and Christmas Day.
Does it cost anything to drop things off?
Most items can be dropped off for free! This includes electronics, appliances, batteries, and light bulbs. There is a small $5 fee for toilets, but for almost everything else, we just want to help you keep it out of the landfill.
Can I recycle Styrofoam at the curb?
Actually, Styrofoam (or polystyrene) can’t go in your curbside bins because it breaks into tiny pieces that are hard to sort. But don’t worry! You can bring it to the Depot for free. Just make sure it’s clean, free of dirt and food scraps so we can give it a second life.
What happens if I have a really big load?
No problem! For larger volumes or commercial loads, we have a scale system. Just pull up and our friendly team will help you get weighed in.
Can I drop off items after hours?
To keep our site safe and clean, we ask that you only drop off items during our operating hours. This helps us make sure everything goes in the right spot!
Do you offer help with unloading?
We want the Depot to be accessible for everyone. If you have mobility challenges or a particularly heavy item, just let one of our staff members know, we’re happy to lend a hand.
Can I bring my scrap metal?
Yes! We have a dedicated scrap metal bin for everything from old pots and pans to bicycle frames. Keeping metal out of the landfill helps save a lot of energy.
Special Items & Household Waste
What do I do with old paint or cleaning supplies?
We’re happy to help you safely dispose of “leftover” paint, pesticides, cooking oil, anti-freeze and motor oil.
Speak to an attendant before you drop off any flammable liquids at our Household Hazardous Waste area at the Depot. By bringing them here, we ensure they don’t end up in our local waterways.
Do you take large appliances like fridges or stoves?
We certainly do! You can bring them to the Depot, or if they’re too heavy to move, we offer a Large Item Pick-Up Service for a fee. We’ll come right to your curb to help out. Just give us a shout at 604-463-5545 to arrange a time.
Where can I take my old electronics?
From old TVs to tangled charging cables, we take it all! Our Depot is part of the provincial electronics recycling program. We’ll make sure the metals and plastics inside are recovered safely.
Getting Started with Curbside Recycling
I’m new to Maple Ridge. How does the recycling pick-up work?
Welcome to the neighborhood! In Maple Ridge, our curbside recycling is managed through Recycle BC. Most of your everyday items like paper, glass, and plastic containers are picked up weekly. Flexible plastics (like grocery bags and overwrap) are picked up every two weeks. We recommend downloading the Recycle BC app. It’s a handy way to get reminders for your specific schedule so you never miss a day!
Where do I get new recycling boxes or bags?
If yours have gone missing or you’re just starting out, you can give our friends at Remple Disposal a call at 778-503-1340 or email mapleridge@rempledisposal.com They’ll help get you set up with the right bins for your home.
My recycling wasn't picked up today.
What should I do? Sometimes the truck timing changes or a bin gets missed. You can report a missed pick-up by contacting Remple Disposal (for houses) or Waste Control Services (for apartments and condos). We’re all in this together to make sure every bin gets emptied!
Our Community & Values
What is the "Supported Work Program"?
This is the heart of what we do. We partner with Community Living BC to provide meaningful employment and skills training for neighbors with developmental disabilities. When you visit the Depot, you’re supporting a workplace that values inclusion and dignity for everyone. We’re proud to be a place where everyone belongs.
How can I get involved in local events?
We love a good community gathering! We organize the annual Celebrate Earth Day event in Memorial Peace Park and host Repair Cafés where you can learn to fix broken items instead of tossing them. Keep an eye on our community map for more local “hidden gems.
