We Can Help
We all want to keep our local parks, trails, and sidewalks beautiful and clear of hazards. Sometimes, you might spot a lonely shopping cart that’s wandered a little too far from home. These carts are valuable assets for our local businesses, and when they are left out in the elements, they can become a safety hazard or end up as litter in our green spaces.
Why It’s Important to Report Carts
By reporting a stray cart, you’re doing more than keeping your city clean. Additional ways in which you would be helping includes:
- Helping Local Businesses: Replacing a single shopping cart can cost a store over $100.
- Keeping Paths Clear: Carts left on sidewalks can be a barrier for neighbors using wheelchairs, strollers, or walkers.
- Protecting Nature: Keeping carts out of our local waterways and parks helps protect our local environment.
Report An Abandoned Shopping Cart to Ridge Meadows Recycling Society
Through our Community Inclusion programs, our team often assists with cart recovery in downtown areas. We assist major retailers in the area with pick up and drop off of abandoned carts.
If you see a shopping cart in the downtown core of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows, you can report it to us by:
