Twice a year, Ridge Meadows Recycling Society teams up with the City of Maple Ridge to help you tidy up your yard the eco-friendly way! Our Branch Chipping Program is a simple, convenient alternative to backyard burning, helping keep our air clean and our neighborhoods beautiful.
If you live in a single-family home in Maple Ridge, this service is here for you. There’s no need to book; just have your branches ready by the roadside on your area’s deadline, and we’ll take care of the rest.
2026 Set-Out Deadlines
To keep our teams moving efficiently, please ensure your branches are at the curb by the Monday morning of your scheduled week.
Spring 2026
- West of 224th Street: Monday, March 23
- East of 224th Street: Monday, April 13
Fall 2026
- West of 224th Street: Tuesday, October 13 (Starting after Thanksgiving)
- East of 224th Street: Monday, November 2
Important: Our teams may take up to two weeks to work through each area, depending on the volume of branches. We cannot accept late set-outs once the chipper has passed your street!
How to “Recycle it Right” at the Curb
To ensure your pile is picked up safely and quickly, please follow these simple guidelines:
- Size Limits: We can accept branches up to 15 cm in diameter.
- Total Volume: Your pile should be no larger than 3 cubic meters (1m x 1m x 3m).
- Placement: Stack branches neatly at the roadside adjacent to your property. Please don’t put them out more than 3 weeks before your deadline.
- Timing: Our crews spend about 20 minutes per household to ensure everyone gets a turn!
Have Extra or Missed the Deadline?
If you have an oversized pile or missed your pickup date, you can take your green waste to the Metro Vancouver Maple Ridge Recycling & Waste Centre, located right next door to us at 10092 236th Street, Maple Ridge. Please note that tipping fees will apply for green waste drop-offs.
