Not sure where that old fridge or worn-out sofa goes? We can help! While the Ridge Meadows Recycling Depot is a great place to drop off items, we know that some things are just too big or heavy to move on your own.
Our friendly crew offers a fee-for-service pickup to help you Recycle it without the heavy lifting. We’ll come to your address in the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows area to whisk those bulky items away.
How it Works
Here’s a quick guide to help you get started:
- Book Your Spot: Use the Service Request form to schedule a pickup. Service can be arranged for any day of the week.
- Curb Placement: Simply place your items at the curb by your scheduled time
What We Can Pick Up
We can take most large items that are accepted at the Recycling Depot and some that are not like mattresses and furniture . By choosing this service, you’re helping us keep our local parks beautiful and ensuring materials stay out of the landfill.
Standard Recyclable Items
The base pickup fee is $78.75 (tax included). This covers as many of the following items as you have!
- Large Appliances:Â Fridges, freezers, stoves, washers, and dryers.
- Home Comfort:Â Furnaces, hot water tanks, and barbeques.
- Electronics:Â TVs, computers, monitors, and printers.
Special Items (Additional Fees)
Some items require a little extra care or involve fees from our regional partners. For these, we charge the base fee plus $20 per item:
- Mattresses & Bedding:Â Mattresses, box springs, and futons.
- Furniture:Â Chairs, tables, couches, and other household furniture.
- Why the extra fee? These items aren’t processed directly at our depot, so we deliver them to our neighbors at the Metro Vancouver Waste Centre..
Items We Cannot Accept
To keep our crew and community safe, we cannot pick up:
- Corrosive or flammable liquids
- Explosive materials
- Hazardous waste (some pesticides, chemicals, etc.)
