Have you ever wondered what happens to your recycling after it leaves your hands? We would love to show you! At the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society, we believe that seeing the process in action helps us all become better recyclers.
Our community tours are a great way for schools, local groups, and curious residents to get a firsthand look at how we sort materials and work together to keep our local parks and neighborhoods beautiful.
What to Expect
Our tours are about 40 minutes long and offer an easy-to-understand look at the recycling journey. Together, we will:
- Explore the Depot: See where your items go and how they are prepared for their next life.
- Ask Anything: Our friendly team is here to answer those “where does this go?” questions.
- See the Impact: Learn how sorting our materials correctly helps our environment and supports local jobs.
Book Your Tour
Ready to join us? Whether you’re a teacher planning a field trip or a community group looking to learn something new, we’d love to have you.
Plan Your Visit
To keep everyone safe while we work, we have a few simple guidelines to help your visit go smoothly:
- Safety First: Because we work with glass and metal, please ensure everyone in your group wears sturdy, close-toed shoes. For safety reasons, we can’t allow flip-flops or sandals on the tour.
- Stay Together: The Depot is a busy place! We ask that all guests stay with the group and that children remain close to their grown-ups at all times.
- Getting Here: We suggest parking along River Road near 236th Street. To make sure there is plenty of room for our neighbors who are dropping off their daily recycling, please avoid parking in the main Depot lot.
- Arriving by Bike or Bus: We love green travel! We have secure bike racks (just bring your lock), and the C48 bus stops right out front.
